So you're interested into what I think?
Drunk Driving
I think that Drunk Driving has become a ridiculous issue that keeps coming up and everyone thinks that lowering the limit is going to make matters better. Most drunk drivers that either get caught, or more importantly cause harm or damage are not floating around the famour .10 mark. Usually they are .15 or better. So what does lowering the limit to .08 going to do? Scare some people from having any drinks at the bar? Maybe, and it that case I think it's a good idea. On the same note while thinking about what "the limit" should be I thought why don't they just make it illegal to have ANY alcohol in your system. That way it will be a BOLD statement that if you drink DON'T drive. That would help somewhat but the consequeces of that for the general public are the honest folk who have a glass of wine at dinner, or partied hard and are drinking home the next day.
Enough rambling...
So where should "the limit" be. Personally I think that the police need to get a better method for accessing drinking and driving and the pelanties should go along with how drunk you are. The cop that pulls over the person with a tail light out should get a ticket for the tail light unless there was other reason for the cop to think the person is too drunk to drive. Another thing that blew my mine at least in Wisconsin is that the statute is actually written where there is no DUI (Driving Under the Influence) and only an OWI (Operating While Intoxicated). Here's were we get into a matter of wording and opinion. Operating means "physical manipulation or activation of any of the controls or switches required to put the vehicle in motion." By this defination you do not need to actually be driving at all. In fact you wouldn't have to even be in the car. You could get an OWI for releasing the parking brake and pushing your car down a hill and watching it go on it's own. The ticket that you get will be for "Operating" the vehicle, but everyone that talks to or about you will call you a "Drunk Driver".
Going out to Party Ladies..... Think twice
Also in the great state of Wisconsin a person is concidered a "concenting adult" in regards to sexual assult/rape when they are drunk. Even if you are falling over and don't know your own name and someone takes advantage of you, you can't claim that you were drunk or passed out.
